Romans Chapter 3 Verse 22 : This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
Romans Chapter 3 Verse 23 : for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans Chapter 3 Verse 24 : and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
The human race, since before the time of all our forefathers, has been full of prejudice, bigotry, racism, tribalism and hatred of strange looking people from different cultures.
Granted we have done our best and come a long way in struggling to patch up our apprehensions of each other with laws and human rights slogans, but we are still full of pretence and indignation when we see the way others behave. Yet, just under a few layers of neurons we are all so totally far from being squeaky clean ourselves. Our very DNA is tinted with bias. This bias is often expressed in the way we generalize our descriptions of people and in the way we blatantly pick and choose who we want to interact with.
We fear that all of a certain group are violent and vicious marauders, so we will keep them at arms length. We fear that all of another group are pork eating, alcoholic warmongers, so we should do our best to stay away from them, we fear that all of a certain skin colour are primitive beasts waiting to pounce and go on the rampage, we fear that all of another skin colour are manipulative, exploitative, deceitful, trouble-making wizards, that this group and that group are nothing but class-conscious, stooge-making racists. And nearly everyone is either shouting it out or saying in secret “watch out for them!”
Well, guess what? God, who created us all says that we are all damned for it, and declares us all guilty! He has declared that we cannot escape His judgment. Without accepting our guilt and receiving His forgiveness we are doomed to fail. We cannot work our way around this one, because God will not budge.
We all need to be forgiven by God and we need to forgive and be reconciled to our fellow human beings regardless of colour, culture or creed. We will never succeed in doing this without God.
We need to understand the extent of God’s love for us all. And we need to love each other. Without learning about God’s love for all humanity, as expressed through Jesus Christ, we will not make it.
Get in the good side of God today! Love your fellow human being!
