Proverbs (9:10) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs (4:7) The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
James Chapter 1 Verse 5 : If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
– The Holy Bible (NIV)
There you have it! Knowledge, understanding and wisdom! These you do not get by growing a long beard and long nails, sitting still and unwashed for hours in the hot sun or under a spooky tree on a moonlit night. You don’t need to chew on a curd or hum until you’re dumb to get knowledge and wisdom.
These things come from your Creator and all you have to do is to ask Him directly with the decency of respect and trust.
To love and honour God by really listening to Him and by asking Him for help and by humbly obeying Him and by loving and serving the interest of others and not just yourself, is in itself wisdom.
But to deceive yourself and others by accusing God, believing lies about Him, disregarding Him and grumbling and complaining against Him won’t make you any wiser. Instead, you will remain angry, bitter, lost and finally totally perplexed at what life is all about.
Without Godly wisdom, you can study and seek for money, search for recognition and fame until you’re stone cold stiff and blue. It will all have been in vain, like the proverbial ‘chasing after mere wind.’
I would suggest and strongly advise that you make it your number one priority to seek for God’s powerful truth and wisdom in what He has done for you through Jesus your Saviour. The rest of the full meaning of life will fall into its correct perspective once you understand this reality.
Be wiser today than yesterday!
